During the last week I have noticed some welcome sights. Catkins, pussy willows, snowdrops, crocuses and lambs. Can spring be at last round the corner with some brighter and warmer days? I think we would all welcome this as it seems a long time since we enjoyed some decent weather.

Our first coffee morning of the year was held at Kath and John’s and we thank them for their hospitality and the opportunity to get together for a chat. Our March coffee morning is on Thursday 17^th at the home of Jean and Gordon Corbett. They have moved to Shrewsbury but have still offered their home as a venue. If you would like to share transport or have a lift we will meet at the village hall at 10:00am, if you wish to make your own way we will see you there.

There are a number of dates for your diary in the coming months.

March 8^th Pancakes at the vicarage.

March 9^th Ash Wednesday service at Astley

March 11^th Confirmation with Holy Communion at Hadnall at 7pm.

March 16^th Compline at Hadnall at 7:00pm.

April 3^rd. Mothering Sunday at Hadnall at 9:45am to replace 8:00am service.

April 13^th Compline at Hadnall at 7:00pm.

There is also a reminder that the Annual Parish Meeting will be held in church on 11^th April at 7:30pm. This is your opportunity to hear what has been happening in the church over the last twelve months and to have your say in what you would like to see or not see in the future. It is also an opportunity to show support and encouragement to those in the parish who take upon themselves the daily running of the church throughout the year.It is most discouraging when the turnout from the parish is so small and it would be good this year to buck the trend and have more people showing an interest. If you can make this date please do!
