Hadnall Church – by Diane Clark

Doesn’t nature look wonderful at the moment? Everything is so fresh and green and lush as we leave spring behind and look forward to the summer. Our churchyard at the moment looks particularly smart thanks to John and his team and it is a real credit to their hardwork. Sometimes even nature needs a helping hand to look her best.

By the time you read this our May coffee morning will have taken place at the home of Andrew and Usha and we thank them for their hospitality in hosting this meeting. Our June coffee morning will be held at Beaconsfield caravan site by kind invitation of Alan and Lesley Walton. This will be on Thursday June 16th at the usual time of 10:30am to 12:00 noon. We hope you can join us, further details on location will be given later.

It is a great pleasure to be able to have Christina once again playing our organ at some of the services. It is good to be able to appreciate the organ played with its full voice and enjoy the pleasing results of its recent restoration. We would welcome anyone who would like to come along and play it on a formal or informal basis, so if there is anyone out there who would like to give it a try please do not hesitate to contact the church warden on 210445.

On June 12th Hadnall is holding its village fete and the church is once again organising the tombola stall. If you have any suitable items please bring them to the village hall on Saturday 11th or pass them onto a member of the PCC or Sylvia Wellings who has agreed to co-ordinate the stall. Time to clear out those unwanted bits and pieces and put them to good use.

A date for your diary is Sunday July 24th when the fundraisers will be hosting a summer lunch in the village hall. The committee has been plagued by illness of one sort or another over the last eighteen months and has not been able to do as much as usual. We are hoping that this time we will all be well and able to provide the usual first class event. More details of this to come but we hope you can keep the date free and join us in what is always a great community occasion.
