Benefact News May 2011
Hadnall Church – by Diane Clark
What a wonderful spell of weather we have enjoyed lately. I hope that this is not our summer, welcome though the warm days are. It has however been a fitting background to our Easter Festival as we celebrate new life in all its forms.
A big thank you to all those who helped in the cleaning and decoration of the church for our Easter Sunday service. The church looked fresh and bright and the flower arrangements and lilies provided a lovely background for the service. It was good to see so many people present and especially to have the company of a number of children. Thanks must also be given to Eric who played for us and Irene who once again provided Easter eggs after the service, much to the delight of children and adults alike.
The Annual Church Meeting which took place on April 11th was also well attended, at least for an AGM and this was most encouraging. The Secretary’s, Treasurer’s and Fabric Reports were presented and accepted and the present members of the PCC agreed to stand for another year with the welcome addition of Mrs Wendy Harris. Mr Andrew Howard Carter agreed to join Kath and John as Synod representatives and there was some discussion as to how they could best take forward the views of the parish on important matters of concern.
Our monthly coffee morning on April 21st was at the home of Denis and Margaret Williams and we must thank them for their hospitality and the use of their garden on such a lovely day. We must also thank the Gospel Group that came along . They were greatly enjoyed by those that were present and we hope that they will be able to join us again some time soon.
Our next coffee morning is on Thursday May 19th at the home of Mr Andrew Howard Carter. We hope that you will be able to come along and join us from 10:30 to 12:00 noon.
